Baris means Peace in Turkish language and if somebody’s willing to find some peace and privacy with his/her loved one, I’d like to take them to a Newly Opened fine dine – Baris. Ambiance of this Mediterranean restaurant will take you straight to Turkey. Such ambiance and peace is clearly hard to find in a Busy city like Delhi. But now I guess, people don’t have to runaway here and there for finding peace cause they’ll definitely get some Privacy and Peace at Baris which is situated nearby Masjid Moth at a Local Shopping Complex of Greater Kailash 2 (GK2).
Basically I got so much to talk about this fine dine restaurant but I’ve created certain sections just for the ease of readers. So here I go!
Exploring Hot Mezze at Baris
Cigar Borek rolls were the best thing I had in here. They were crispy from the outside in the shape of Cigars. Those Cigars were filled with Feta Cheese, Caramelized onions & Parsley and that too served with Cacik sauce.
Izgar Paynir was the grilled cottage cheese roasted with tomato sauce and Pomo glaze. I usually love Paneer but I didnt liked this dish at all. It was more like a Bland Paneer and failed to caught my taste buds attention.
Palate Cleanser at Baris
Not forgetting the Palate Cleanser Beetroot based Shots. They were such refreshing and I took it in one single shot and my taste buds felt so good after that.
Exploring Main Course at Baris
Talking about Paneer, I also tried their Woodo Paynir from the main course section. And it was surprisingly amazing. After having that Izgar Paynir, I was very much in doubtful regarding any Paneer related dish from here. But Woodo Paynir clearly changed my mind. It was kind of Grilled Paneer on Mohogany Noodles with spicy tomato cream sauce. Clearly caught my attention very well.
I had a bowl of Soup by the name Mereimek Corbasi and as the Chef was himself from Turkey, he made it traditionally just the way they prepare in their hometown. It was traditionally prepared with Masoor Dal (without Chilka) also known as Red Lentils with glazed onions and croutons. While having this soup, Indian taste buds will say out loud as they must’ve prepared some Home Cooked Dal. It was so warm and delicious.
Turkish Pizza at Baris
After having that, I was keen to try their Turkish Pizza. I had their Subzeli Pide and basically it was an oval shaped pizza. Grilled veggies, herbs, mozzarella cheese and feta cheese were used in that Subzeli Pide. Although my tummy was filled up with all that Paynir and beverages, yet it was so good and delicious.
Dessert Corner of Baris
Crema Di Chocolate was something out of the World. Wanna know why? Imagine, it was a Rich Chocolatey Mousse with Fresh Raspberry syrup, Turkish Coffee and hazelnut from Chef’s hometown. I guess, I don’t have to say anything else about this Beauty anymore. No doubt, It was heaven on Earth! ❤
Talking about their Baklava, Originated from Ottoman Empire, Baklava is a rich buttery Turkish dessert. It’s more like a Sweet Crispy Pastry and when I had my Baklava at Baris, it had a strong fragnance of Cinnamon in their Baklava. So delicious as my hands couldn’t stop! 🙂
Turkish Coffee and Tea at Baris
I also tried Turk Kahvesi which is also known as an Authentic Turkish Coffee. It was best for the strong coffee lovers. Though it was served in a very small and beautiful portion. Their traditional way of serving which can put a big smile on your loved one when you order for them. Presentation and taste wise:- Definitely 10/10.
Not forgetting their Turkish Red Tea commonly called as Chay was just different and not so usual. As that red turkish tea came all the way from Black sea region.
- Go there to have a Peaceful Romantic Dinner.
- Do try their Moroccan Mystery Mocktail. It was just Amazing.
- Palate Cleanser was so good. Decent enough to takeover the bad taste of Izgar Paynir.
- Turkish Pizza was very nice.
- Desserts were precisely done.
- In love with their Crema di Chocolate & Turk Kahvesi.
